MakeMKV overview
MakeMKV is your one-click solution to convert video that you own into a free and patents-unencumbered format that can be played everywhere. MakeMKV is a format converter, otherwise called "transcoder". It converts the video clips from the proprietary (and usually encrypted) disc into a set of MKV files, preserving most information but not changing it in any way. The MKV format can store multiple video/audio tracks with all meta-information and preserve chapters. I agree with rhpbates4 - this is not easy to use! Additionally, I found that it doesn't do a great job with subtitles (even selecting the subtitles is confusing). I ripped Avatar with forced subtitles for when the Navi language was being spoken and found that the font would inexplicably change here and there and sometimes just before the subtitles appeared you'd see other random text appear like "Speaking in Navi". This has some fundamental bugs still left to iron out - it's close, but I wouldn't trust any rip (at least with subtitles) for archiving without completely rewatching the movie first...

I went for this system as it is billed as very simple to use.So little to think about and such like.No it is difficult to navigate and there is little or no help online.It was a thrown in the deep end experience for me.So no wouldn't recommend this system at all really.Must be better DVD ripping systems around.
